How important is education for foreigners wishing to work long term in China?
If I have a B.A., 2-3 years of experience in my field and good Chinese language skills. Will the absence of a master make it impossible for me to get a better job?
Field would be business/editing

I dont hink so. I have a J.D. and only make 1,000 RMB more than the ones who have a B.A.
Chinese skills mean more than anything.

You mean like taking important people to KTV, knowing which cigarettes to buy, gifts of Maotai, etc?
nevermind:
Speaking it well is a big deal. Knowing the culture is too, but actually being able to explain yourself competently is a major plus, most people I know who speak it well make at least 30,000 kuai a month. And that's at the least.
