Q: Problems with Baidu Player?

I use Baidu Player to download and watch movies that have in no way been pirated. It worked fine about a month ago but now there's all kinds of problems and whenever I start it up it gives me an error message and won't go. Any solutions?

It's strange. I have been using it now and then and it works pretty well.  There was an update of it a few weeks ago.  My suggestion is that you uninstall it and then download the latest version and install it again. Second suggestion is that you should check if the cache folder still has enough storage space left.

My GF downloaded Baidu Player in my computer and it tried to take control of many things.  For example, it disconnected Windows Media Player, it got a bunch of programs running underneath, and many pop ups.  So, it got me slightly pissed and uninstalled it.  All problems went away.  A local computer guru who is also a god friend told me not to download any Chinese program to my foreign laptop, because you never know what else is hidden inside them.  I know follow that advise.

I used Baidu last semester, but on return home my machine needed a 'clean'. I was advised not to down-load anything on my return as a this software opened my laptop to viruses..... so no more Baidu. Thankfully it is not a matter of life and death so i'll survive.

You probably have to update something. I always get that message. Usually for me I just say I'll update later and it lets me view the video. If you get the update done there should be no problems...

There are many other ways to download content that is in no way pirated. Torrents for example. Chinese software always craps up your computer. The software is designed like the menu at a restaurant, each piece of software must have all features, none of the features work really well.
