Q: Rabies in China

I've been reading about import / export dogs to Canada/China. I see rabies is a real problem in China. 3000 people die each year. The use of human and equine rabies immunoglobulins  has saved the lives of countless patients who would have died if treated with vaccine alone. However, both products are often in short supply worldwide and are virtually unaffordable in developing countries. In the worst-affected province, Guandong, 62.5% of patients did not receive proper treatment on their wounds, 92.5% did not receive adequate post-exposure vaccination and 91.25% did not receive any anti-rabies immunoglobulin. (this is the cause of a certain poster of threes, to be missing lately)

Urban areas dogs are registered and vaccinated, In suburban areas, however, dog management is deficient. For example, guard dogs in suburban areas are sometimes not vaccinated because the owner or veterinarian cannot safely restrain the dog for vaccination. So watch out for those street dogs. On a positive note, rabies will make you more lustful.

From my experience, the stray dogs stay away from humans. They tend to run away. When I hear of a person getting bitten by a stray dog in China, I think something is up. Maybe the person was messing with the dog, or perhaps, in some cases, it's rabies. They usually don't worry me.

TedDBayer ! you always have something new and funny to come up with ........... rabies in china..... well chinese do eat dogs so i am afraid that do not have rabies inside them as well i will be more caution with the dog instead of chinese walking beside or passing me by..... haha

Jnusb416:

I'm pretty sure that when a person has rabies, they do not bite people. Instead, if they don't get the vaccine pretty quick, it's basically a death sentence. They live, what, maybe 3 days?
