I just got soaked in a torrential, tropical downpour. got home and was about to hop in the shower. water is shut off.
so I got to wondering about this...probably the shower I just had (outside), while on my little e-bike, was purer water than I would get from a shower at home, indoors.

Just think about why the air is much cleaner after a rain...
It probably should be in theory, but who knows what impurities it picks up falling through the polluted air.

Last night in Wuhan we were treated to the excitement of horizontal rain. My kitchen window was open, and all my clean plates and dishes that had been sitting in the draining rack thing by the window were genuinely filthy when I went in there this morning. The water had drained/evaporated leaving behind a layer of filth. Its the first time I've seen a clear visualization of just how dirty the rain is. I seriously hope the tap water is cleaner than this.
My girlfriend and I always have the same conversation whenever there is drizzle about. She basically says "I should use an umbrella", I say "a bit of water never hurt anyone" and she replies "it's not the water, its all the other crap in the rain". Now I kind of see that she has a point.

Ah yeah, same here in Foshan, torrential rain today, 20-30cm of water in some places.
My district government has been experimenting clean tap water for the past few months, they basically boil it before it reaches peoples' taps, they also put some good chemical in it (couldn't find which one, chlorine maybe) to get rid of most bad chemicals/metals in the water, and of course they filter it.
They say it's safe for drinking straight from the tap but I don't trust this for a second, I will keep boiling my own water instead.
