Q: Random - If you marry a Chines girl as a westerner, is she allowed to take your last name?

With all the cultural differences, I was wondering on the subject.
My take is its there discretion like any part of the world.
Some folks at work disagree.

What are your thoughts on the subject? Laughing out loud

There's nothing set in stone about that, but it does give rise to interesting stories!!

Usually, the guy's last name goes through, HOWEVER, I have heard stories where the parents of the wife had a lot more money and power, and so negotiated at the beginning of the wedding to have the kids take on their last night! How crazy is that!

Other times they decide they're gonna have two kids...one will keep the father's last name, the other the mother's last name...

why are last names such a big deal anyways???
