Q: Recommend some good headphones for rock music?

My question says it all. What it doesn't say is that my old headphones were broken and that 'Beats by Dre' [the authentically expensive ones] suck ass even more than for their asking price. I listen to rock 70% of the time, hip-hop/rap 25% of the time, and probably 5% goes to classical music [for when AC-DC makes my ears bleed and I still need musical input]. So can anyone recommend some good headphones. This is an audiophile question, so people be specific. I'm the kind of person that would commit suicide if I lost my hearing, so please BE SPECIFIC. Thanks.

In the spirit of having just stepped on my headphones, I'd like to promote this question too.

I recently bought a set of Skullcandy Fix In-Ear headphones/earbuds during my last trip to the US. I was tired of the previous cheapies I had that kept falling out of my ear while at the gym.  Wasn't too worried about how the sound quality would turn out....but, turns out they're pretty awesome!  My gym playlist is mostly rock, and some hip-hop/dance thrown in for cardio days.  Added plus, comes with a mic for phone calls and volume/track control on the in-line remote (I think some features are iPhone specific, sorry Android users).

Anyways, not sure if you're an in-ear or over-ear kinda guy....but these definitely get my vote for in-ear!

I have 'Ultimate Ears SuperFi Pro' ear buds, which fit well anything I do, except when in bed sleeping. Ear buds come with 3 different sizes of rubber insoles, depending on your ear hole. I bought them some 6 years ago in USA, and I usually change (replace) cable every few years.

I can listen music, without hearing any noise around me (in the train).

When in train sleeper, I am using ordinary Apple ear buds, because I can comfortably lay down (on side) and using earbuds while sleeping.

I hate in-ear stuff...I'm a musician myself..just got Beyerdynamic DT-235, awesome headphones for less than 300 kuai (taobao). Can't mess with the Germans...comfortable too and block most of the outside noise. A friggin' bargain, love em, great for any kinda music Wink. They don't look that special but I don't give a damn. Skullcandy, Beats, Monster...that's just image...rubbish for me.

MasqueX:

I'll check these out on taobao. Thanks for the info!

No worries, you won't be disappointed smiley. Better than Shennheiser or AKG at this price range.
