Q: Recommendations for satellite TV?

Bored to tears by CCTV-9. Anyone have any recommendations on which providers are best; what traps to avoid; what channels are available, and, of course, how much it might cost.

Well, the Filippino feed, Dream TV, I think is the best for native English speakers.  I got the dish & box for about 1500RMB.  The only problem is that it is a pirate system and the card needs to be replaced about once every 3 months.

And about every 6 months the original provider goes out of business and opens under a new name.  So if you do find them to replace your broken card, they will insist on you buying a new box along with it for around 1000RMB.

Nice scam.  But... It does allow me to get my Mythbusters fix.  Of course, recently I have found just about all the movies and shows I want to watch online, so I barely use my satellite feed anymore.
