Q: Red letter day
Got a couple of 'red letter' occasions approaching.
I'm receiving conflicting information on how much a fresh laowai is expected to bring to such a party. Some say 20 some say 200.
Which is the right amount?
The events are a new baby and a wedding.

Laowai = 2000. You are white/famous and rich. 
I always put 500 inside. It is not much and it is also not a low amount. I guess it is in the middle.

I always give 200 no matter who it's for, but that's only cos i don't give a ... what any one thinks.
