Q: Regarding Northern/Southern attitudes toward marriage
Is it true or untrue that Northern Chinese delay marriage until they are in their late twenties, and Southern Chinese feel compelled to marry as early as possible?

Marriage is a financial consideration - whomever is willing to offer the most...wins. Doesn't matter when or what age.
Generally its not a north or south thing but a top tier/lower tier city thing. People in more developed cities are marrying older wether its to succeed at work first and life is just more expensive there or for personal reasons such as less family pressures to marry young.
In poorer places theu have no need for personal development after high school your all living together and farming or whatnot so why not get married and start pooping out kids sooner? What else is there to do.
Where those two paths meet is when migrant workers come into cities and still have these rural ideas in their heads.
Also regardless of where most parents are rural folk and they hold alot of sway.
On a personal note, i love how the folks here say people could only be around me for my money yet most people here seem to be of the opinion that all chinese are gold diggers and their only motivation for doing anything is money( see above posting ). Yet i havent run into that at all. A lot of lonely angry people i guess.
