'It is commonly thought that B.C. stands for “before Christ” and A.D. stands for “after death.” This is only half correct. How could the year 1 B.C. have been “before Christ” and A.D. 1 been “after death”? B.C. does stand for “before Christ.” A.D. actually stands for the Latin phrase anno domini, which means “in the year of our Lord.” The B.C./A.D. dating system is not taught in the Bible. It actually was not fully implemented and accepted until several centuries after Jesus’ death......'

Actually I do not think.so. My age.and country did not allow me to learn latin but as far as.I know AD stands for Ano Domini - Year.of.the God - meaning all time after Jessus, supposedly "Christ", was born.
A.D. stands for Anno Domini (in the Year of the Lord), not After Death.
It starts from when Jesus was (assumed to have been) born.
Yup. Year zero started when the dude popped out. But it was backdated.
Which leads to the question, why did China adopt the same year numbering system?
since I can't add , get it,, ADd anything more to this, I'll just hijack the thread.
how can there not be a 'God',, what is the 'Universe' ,,, get in your fast spaceship and head out from Earth. let me know when u get to the end/edge of the universe,,, is there a wall? what's on the other side of that wall? what the heck is 'infinity' ? why the heck do I use so many ' ' 's
Anno Domini 2016 (by my understanding)

haha,,, yeah, for a moment or two I was wondering the same thing...
AD stands for Anno Domini (the year of Lord) and means Jesus birthday.
It's Mediaval Latin term now commonly accepted irrespective if the person considers Jesis to be "Christ" (Mesiah) or not (Jews, atheists, Muslims etc.)
