Q: Russian/ Ukrainian restaurants

I saw lots of Russian/ Ukrainians in China. Do they have many restaurants? I like home made perogies/petahe.
I had the worst pizza ever in a Russian's bar.

Yeah there are quite a lot of Russian restaurants in China especially in Harbin which is so close to Russia. There are also a number of Russian restaurants in Beijing that I know of in the Dongzhimen area close to the Russian Embassy and there's a nightclub called Chocolate which is run by Russians and features Russian dancers.

TedDBayer:

perogies are a bid like Chinese dumplings ( i think better) served with buttered onions and bacon bits and covered in sour cream,, then there cabbage rolls, borscht ( beet soup), these are the most common,,jelly donuts are Ukrianian,,, kielbasa - a sausage, lots of things, I like a whole cooked wheat in cream and honey,, i'm a UKe, special meals were always larger, these are just side dishes.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
