Q: The same music at every supermarket in China?
It seems to me that in China the same music is constantly played at almost every supermarket (and even shop) across the country regardless of the time. I think it's some awful Kenny G number or something, very 80s/cheesy sounding.
Feel the same?
My local RT-Mart likes to play "Happy Birthday to You" (technically 祝你生日快乐....I guess) ad infinitum.
i keep hearing 'Jingle bells' in supermarkets
NiceBrice:
I used to work at a school that played jingle bells over the PA system to indicate classes ending. All year round!

I also heard it being played continuously in a local McDonalds. No wonder the employees looked so stressed
No they usually play different tunes at the walmart that I go to. It's an upbeat song with no lyrics....they switched back and forth between that and another one.
Don't care what they play - just turn the bloody volume down!!! Aagghhhhhh!!
I was in a local supermarket the other week minding my own business picking out veg as a Westlife track finished.
Next thing I heard is some rap beats with the lyrics, 'I gonna f*** you with my pants on'. This was repeated over and over during the song is people were innocently shopping and the checkout girl scanned my items.
I think I was the only person in the store that was actually aware of what was being said.
Wild!
