Q: That sax song at the end flights, train, metro, shops closing & even end of public basic schools...

As I mentioned on the question, I think everybody has heard that song chinese tend so use at the end of almost everything, I think that chinese people (as I do) already associate that song with the end of the activity happening.

I've heard it in so many places all around the country.

Does anybody know since when they play it and howcome it happened to become the meaning of the end of many activities?

Think you'll find it's actually Going Home, not End of the Night. Otherwise they could only play it at night time.

I was secretly trolling for Kenny G fans...my plan worked. That's my answer and I'm sticking to it!

Kenny G, Going Home. Introduced in the 90's, never went out of fashion, it's a must have. When you build a new shopping mall, there is "play Going Home in the toilets" in the to-do list. Because it's the way it should be done, all shopping mall do it, tue bu tue ? No why, just do.

The music at my school is Celine Dion.  And mate...her music just goes on and on.

She's made one record, and it goes for about 65 hours.

Ohhhhhh myyyyyyyy..... It's everywhere since my first day in China in 2005 and still going strong. Hotels, hotel elevators, hotel lobbies, hotel toilets mainly......

I hate the way his instrument sounds, but the melody actually is not bad.

I always thought it was a Chinese classic melody....... and so 1 billion people here I guess....

Cool, "Going home".... I'll play it loud the day I'll leave.

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
