I'm in the middle of getting my work visa and my new employer has told me that the education bureau needs a copy of my foreign expert's certificate. I just looked up what it is (a booklet similar to a passport..) and I have never been given anything like that. My new employer called my former employer and the school said that they don't have any copies of it, that the system online has changed and that's why no one can find me in the system. I've been working in China for 3 years, pretty big school....why wouldn't they have given me a foreign expert's certificate?
I'm trying to get a new visa so they need a copy of the old certificate....
Please help me if you can.
Thanks

Normally, within the process of obtaining your work visa, your employer will request your FEC since normally you will not be in China yet. But if i do recall correctly, i think that the FEC is tied up to your place of employment, and once you cease to work there you must renew it or transfer it to the new employer.
All you will have to do, rather that the trouble of fighting your former employer to give it to you (evidently, he is giving you excuses not to), is to get a copy of your college diploma and go and apply for a new one. But this time, make sure you keep th original, and give a copy to your new employer.
