Q: Searching for a quality high speed internet location in Qingdao or Laoshan.

I need a good high speed internet location in Qingdao. I have to send and receive large photographic files and most of the hotels have about 1 mbps WIFI with many server resets. Even the "high speed" WIFI hotspots I have found in Maidao are really slow. I don't mind crossing town if necessary but I need at least 10 mbps to do what I need to do.

If you suspect you know a location, you can check the speed of that location by logging in there and going to speedtest.net. That will provide you with a reliable measurement of the upload and download speed of that location. It will also allow you to determine if you're getting the speeds you're paying for at your home location.

I appreciate any feedback provided. Xie xie

How about buy yourself a 4G mifi dongle & stop spongeing off others free wifi? You can't expect good wifi connections for free.

Because, I travel for a living, I don't stay in any country that long and since my lodging comes with semi-reasonable speed in most countries, I don't need one extra thing to manage with all the camera and computer items necessary for my job.

Why don't you either answer the question or go back to a social network column?

Most posters here (I do) have Broadband included in Contract with free apartment. However, it's so slow, I'll not even use your web link for speed measure.

I'm looking for suggestions on good Internet providers too.

Are you a spy?

You travel for a living and send large photographic files.  Ummm

Anyway, the solution is to find someone with a wide area network.  The company I work for has one. They rent dedicated bandwith on a fibre optic from here to there.  No limit to the file size, and the speed is top notch.

It also gets around the VPN thing. Because with a WAN you just pick what server you want to be your entry into the net.

If your a photographer, your agent should know this.

If your a journalist, you need one of these:

Yeah, if you are a spy you would already have one hidden in the heel of your shoe wink
