Q: security camera in class

in my training school they use security cameras for parents what the teachers and the students while the parents are waiting for their kids in their lessons.I just wanted to know is there any other reason they could use security cameras maybe monitoring feedback for their teachers or keeping an eye on their teachers hope somebody can tell me some suggestions or ideas.

you don't say where the cameras are: in the class-rooms or just in the reception/corridors. If they are in the class-rooms, that is creepy. No doubt the parents want to see if their little darling is getting the attention from the foreign teacher they are paying for, but it makes for an uncomfortable work-place. What next? security cameras in the toilets to see how long people spend there?

Not in Chinese toilets. There's not too many 'time' issues in China.

Any security camera in a Chinese bathroom would quickly commit seppuku.

If you are doing the right thing the camera system is great to have
Firstly if something goes missing you can track the offender
If the student does not do the work and plays on the phone all day you have supporting evidence
If a parent comes in and starts a fight you can replay it over and over laughing your ass off as they get thrown out the door head first.
And make sure you know where the blind spots are

Scandinavian:

except that alongside the false accusation, the camera system was coincidentally malfunctioning in which case it doesn't help. I completely agree that for those of us who walk the clean path (if that is possible with all the spitting) a surveillance camera is a safety thing

You didn't say how old the kids are?  There have been some scandals in the past few years involving kindergarten age children being abused by teachers, or by other children at the behest of teachers (albeit at Chinese kindergartens and not at training schools).  In this regard, it makes perfect sense to have cameras.  And, let's face it, security cameras are pretty much everywhere in China....buses, taxis, offices, traffic lights, etc etc.

I worked in few Schools with cameras in the classrooms, but I never got feedback on it.

In Training centers (EF), managers (probably) use class cameras at 'parents complains'. However in Public Schools, I am sure nobody ever look at the class cameras tape.

In my present Public School, we don't have (visible) cameras in the class, but there is Chinese teacher always present during my class. English level of Chinese teachers here is low, so I am sure Chinese teachers also learn, while observing my classes.

I just 'agree'no, every move I make is taped everywhere I am. Either in Western cities or in China. Cameras don't bother me.

I don't think, many of us would agree to let our kids sit in the classroom with FT without 'eye' present.

Why should the classroom be excluded. Shop clerk's work place have video cameras as do service industry, airport employees, bus drivers, the list is endless. I work in a research facility and there are cameras everywhere. If you are doing the correct thing, who cares who is watching?

If you know how to teach, the cameras are a godsend. If I had to work at a private training school, I would demand them. Don't ask me why I kicked out student A, see for yourself.

if a kid leaves a training school and gets lost or cant be found, the training school and the foreign entertainers are out of business and the english gravy train of money dries up when the psb rescinds the license for foreign teachers ,

cameras are not good or bad , they are for CYA, Cover your ass,
