Q: Security code on the articles, WTF?!

i OPEN up an article, read it, go to comment and the security code doesn't work. You guys said you were trying to get on wechat, try fixing this site first. I have to duplicate the site and then quickly enter the security code, do we really need security codes to fucking enter a comment? Especially if i'm not a damn guest I have a verified account.

If you're talking about e-tities, it happened to me a month ago. I had to give them mobile no., and they sent me code to unlock my CV.

It took some 3-4 days to receive the code.

Ah yes, icnif missign the point again. Ted's frustration is on the articles on the homepage. The comments section at the bottom requires you to type a stupid security code to add a comment. A lot of the times this doens't work.....

How did I miss a point? Home page at mine is open! Any article I want to read without any code und BS.

I had to get some kind of code to my Nokia, so my CV got unlocked a month ago. Maybe, that's the reason articles at 'Home' are open for me.

Just describing what happened to me earlier. Send message to 'Contact Us' and they might send you text to read 'Home' without codes.

Icnif, reading them is no problem, but if you want to comment on them you need to enter a code.

OK, I rarely comment there. Let me try!

I commented on Beijing WCs article with entering the code and posting the comment without problems. I edited my comment and message is still 'OPEARATION SUCCESSFUL'. LOL, I told them some 2y ago about misspelling, but they've never fix it.

I am thinking, cause for not displaying security code might be weak Internet. I applied online for Tourist visa for India an hour ago, and despite I entered correct sec. code 7 times, website was keep telling me 'enter proper sec. code'. I'll have to try with another Indian website. Tomorrow.

I think that's the point to restrict certain commenters.

Your office puter is plug-in and home's isn't....????

'Weak internet doesn't display your entered code properly, so website is keep repeating code's request' is my theory.

Engl, you should try to comment from different computer.

This forum is sorta hidden and not relevant to censors and revenue stream. We can rant and bitch about China to our heart's content; nobody of relevance in China cares, and if they even see the honest opinions, they can just pass it off as a plague of xenophopbic trolls.

But the ECC frontpage is different. Poignant commentary on articles is unwelcome. Censors are watching, and the look of the site must be optimistic and unwaveringly pro-China.
Then there are advertisement clients. Whether they have unrealistic notions of the jolly crazy foreigner, or they simply want to advertise abroad, any association with negative commentary is detrimental to the site.

The security code blockade is what it is: An obvious lie that will not be rectified any time soon. I haven't visited the frontpage for months; I just waste effort trying to post.

Yes, sometimes it's indeed nerve wrecking when minor glitches like that happen..
