Q: Seems to me to be the biggest night of the year in China. Who are you spending it with?

Chinese New Year's Eve.  Surely the biggest night of the year for Chinese people.  So, who are you spending it with?

Anyone Chinese?  If so, are you having fun?  Doing what?

If not, why not?

Secondary question;  Where's the best place to spend CNY?

Spent it with my wife and kids.

We just sat there using our phones and watching tv. And I was working late.

Go us. We're so exciting.

Sad to say I had to return to Hebei to look after my dogs.

I'm on my own.

Sucks.

I miss my girlfriend and her family. We were really gutted that I had to cut the trip short.

In the future I'll bring them with me.

royceH:

The dogs?  To Hunan?  On no matey...not unless you've decided to share them with others.  With, say, a decent chianti.....

Hahaha, I needed to hear that!

Actually I went to a market in Hunan and they had skinned dogs up on the rack.

Good advice. One of mine is a chow chow so I'd imagine there'd be a few locals licking their chops at the prospect of chowing down on a chow chow.

Sinobear used that line once as an A to the OP, who was asking about skin cream care or similar.

After an explanation on origins of his quote, she never came back.

I haven't seen the film for a long time but I'd like to.

I can remember the shock of hearing that sweet young police lady use the c word as if is was yesterday.  But in fact I think it was in the cinemas around 1993.

Too long ago for most of you whippersnappers.

After a day of doing nothing all day I managed an hour with my favourite barmaid. She opened up just for me Smile Luckily, she has no wifi in her apartment so she opened the bar to skype her family using the bar wifi...

3 days of doing nothing, eating, and more doing nothing. While freezing our asses indoor. Ok, sometime I manage to escape and do some coding on the computer. Tomorrow, we go in the armpit of Jiangsu, I can't bring my laptop, toilets will be a dirty bucket in a smelly shack... 3 days of even more nothing. I will bring my ukulele, but I might be forbidden to practice because "it's weird". I love CNY, it's like slow bullying.

royceH:

Haahahaha....yes.  There ought to be a law against it.....in fact, there probably is..just... not enforced.  The police are very very busy, very very tired.

Anyhow....the ukulele!  Gotta tell you Dr...my granddaughter (5) last week asked her Mummy if she could join the Junior Band and learn the.....the.....yes, THE UKULELE!

Zhenda!

Her Mum sent me an email and asked me what I thought...

I told her to go for it... as the ukulele is all the rage in China!  (b/c of you.)

I spent last night with my wife, step-mother & her partner in an Indian restaurant.....in Manchester. Today we fly to Venice wink

royceH:

Hahaha....good job!  I'm going to Kashgar tomorrow and I'm told there is a Pakistani rstrnt there.  If true, it'll do.

Sounds like some convoluted family tree there.  That's good.

Have fun, bastard.
