Q: Shanghai closes poultry markets over bird flu!!! Any of u getting concerned about H7N9?

Chinese officials in the city of Shanghai have ordered the temporary closure of its poultry markets due to the H7N9 bird flu outbreak. Going by history, China was fairly slow to act on SARS. But, are they again under addressing the present situation or is this nothing to be concerned about?

I am getting a bit concerned! But I eat at mcdonalds a lot so I shouldn't have anything to worry about really. I guess it sucks to be in Shanghai than. Who knows but I do have a little bit of worry!

The officials have lost all of their pathetic credibility in the past years. It's often like when they deny something, you should actually take it as an "admission"

And yes, I'm worried.

the skeptic inside says the numbers are worse than broadcasted as usual, closing all the markets for 7 to 10 deaths, how many died on the streets from accidents in shanghai everyday, must be more serious than the story thats given.

Yes, don't eat poultry.  "Officially" 6 people have died, 4 in Shanghai and 2 in Zhejiang.
Edited my question as per the number of deaths reported by foreign media until I find a source. My brother in law said the media in Hong Kong and Japan is reporting the figure as being much higher but I can't find a report about it yet. :S could be rubbish....sorry

Diseased pigs floating down the river,  infected poultry killing people, is Shanghai turning into some kind of backwoods wild west?  I'm more worried about what doesn't get reported.  If they don't report it, it didn't happen, right?
