Q: A shenzhen - Hongkong holiday.

Hello everyone,

I am planning  a trip to Hongkong for a few days for vacation, Unfortunately i am having a hard tmime finding a place to stay, so i was wondering if it is possible to stay/live  in a hotel in  shenzhen but go across the border to HongKong on all four days, some days i might be back prettty late ...say after mid night. Can this be done and if so ... Has someone done  it before,?

Thanks.

You can do that, however you can't cross border to HK and China 24h a day everywhere.

Shenzhen checkpoints border

Shenzhen has 10 checkpoints in total, composed of eight land ports and two sea ports. The five most well-known land ports are:

Shatoujiao

Luohu (open 06:30 - 00:00). This one is most popular, in Luohu district, so a bit to the east.

HuangGang (open 24 hours per day). Often used to travel to HKIA, also quite busy.

Futian (open 06:30 - 22:30)

Less well known Shenzhen Bay (open 06:30 - 23:30)

New crossing at the end of the long bridge in Shekou, good option instead of the ferry.

And the two sea ports:

Shekou

Fuyong passenger terminal

If you need to cross the border between Hong Kong and Shenzhen after midnight, you only have one option: the 24-hours border crossing at HuangGang custom.

You need to get the visa office to do some magic. Unless you have a very lucky nationality I would say it can't be done. You will not be able to get a 4 Entry Visa for China

BlaBla.Lee:

I am currently a student in mainland china and my visa is valid until next year october, does that make any difference ?

If your visa is multiple entry, I see no reason why you can't do that. After midnight your only option to come back to Shenzhen is by 24 hour bus to Huanggang.

There  is a hotel in Wanchai called Hotel Bonaparte by Rhumbus, charges around  70 / 80 US dollars per night, address is 11 Morrison Hill Road.  Rooms are small (10 sq meter), but nice, clean and very friendly.

Coffee Shop right next door

Close to shopping area (on Hennessy Rd, 2 blocks.  Also close to red light distric of Wanchai, be 5/ 6 blocks.

If you add the cost of hotel in Shenzhen, plus round trip transportation  to HKG, maybe staying in HKG is better
