Q: Shipping boxes from China to the US?

Hi I want to ship a box of some winter clothes back home to the US. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about this/have any experience with it?

Could I use China Post or would it be better if I tried to find a UPS/Fedex center? Would my stuff be safe enough that it would be worth the risk of it potentially getting lost?

And would it be worth the cost in the first place (versus paying extra when I fly back)?

Thanks!

For years now I have shipped boxes from China to USA, and viceversa.  Until the USPS stopped accepting parcel post shipments to China, the cost was roughly $ 1.00 per pound, and will take from 2 to 3 months to get here.  And from China to USA they still do parcel post rates, and it is so low it is not worth paying Fed Ex rates at all.  Again, takes 2 to 3 months to get there.

And if you are concerned about getting lost, you can "register" it, the fee is around 15 yuan.  I have shipped boxes up to about 25 kilos back, and paid always less than 100 yuan for it.  But the last one was maybe 2 years ago.

If you spread a problem around the world so you don't go down alone, and it circles the world and comes back in spades, would you call that circular karma?
