Q: Should Chinese Police be issued Tazers or peper spray?
Reading the front page about some violence where multipal police use chairs and batons to subdue offenders . We have seen in the past the cops just shoot them in some cases and I do not doubt sometimes that is the only way . However given the option to quickly deal with the situation with out injury to police or public wouldn't the use of not so lethal force be better ? (I say no so lethal as things still go wrong with aligies and hart conditions )

Yes they should...it would be knives vs. Tazers...guns I would think would be the last thing they would want to use..
Yes they should and guns with rubber bullets. Too bad there is no anti-sparkey spray on the market. Maybe Raid will work if you use enough.

They are dangerous enough using mobile phones. They would wreak havoc with something as dangerous as a Tazer!
They would not have the self restraint to use them with caution, or as intended They would use them as instruments of torture, or to deliberately inflict pain on the innocent, as a sign of strength.
I understand your reasoning--but giving those thugs weapons would hardly bring down the violence. It would just make things worse for the elderly street vendors when the police come to beat them up and steal their wares.
God forbid. Like arming children with real rifles. Have you seen the police take-downs on tv? When they find a suspected criminal they setup a camera to record their heroic arrest and then 10 over-weight policemen literally jump on a guy. American footballers are probably treated more gently and they wear padding.
Not a chance! They would be using them at every farts' end.
They don't use anything. Only shouting matches from what I've seen.
They could get by with pea shooters and spit balls. Can you imagine the devastation that would do? 
I think they do a great job without them.

To be honest, I no longer believe the police in the US should have tazers either. Seems like they are always misusing them.
After watching the whole Zimmerman court case, I'm not sure we can trust Chinese police to use weapons fairly.
