Q: should i accept the deal?
my school wants me to write a book that will benefit both me and them, they say they are ready to finance everything,when the book is out I will get 55% of the income while they will get 45%, am the author, should I accept it? am i losing or gaining? please need your advice thanks
If it's a book about non-black skinned peoples treatment and perception of black skinned people then god help them for they know not what they do. You might have to go into hiding like that Rushdie guy afterwards. 
Don't do it without an advance. They will manipulate the book sales and rip you off.
No. Never write a book for anything less than 80%. Maybe write it about how the white man is keeping the black man down or whatever.

I've been lurking around this forum for quite some time, and I noticed that you were always complaining about Chinese women not wanting anything to do with you since you have no money. The key phrase being "no money." Either the yellow man is keeping you down, or you don't have any ability to make a living -- or both.
This is a way for you to make that money, or just make the money for yourself. If they want such a large amount, then they must expect it to do very well. If it sells 1 million copies (conservative estimate) in China for only 12 RMB (a very low price), that gives you 6,600,000 million RMB, or over 1 million USD.
And although beaufortnjnja thinks you should be getting paid 80% or more, keep in mind that they're funding everything for you. At the very least, try to work out 60/40 or 70/30. Using the same figures as before, 60/40 is roughly 1.1 milion USD, and 70/30 is 1.34 million. Don't get greedy, or they may just stop working with you altogether. Make sure you have a contract with witnesses, etc.
With only $500,000, you can buy a U.S. citizenship and move to America to get all the white chicks you can shake a stick at. With the rest of the money, you can also buy yourself a modest, 4-bedroom home and a brand new car, and pay for an education in the U.S. so you can get a good job there.
This is your chance to make it big. The fact that your real-life name is "Obama" is a great selling point, and it's free advertising. People will be searching for books about Obama, and they'll stumble across yours on accident. Don't think for a moment that these purchases will be limited to China. It's more than likely that your book sales could go global.
With that said, if you don't take the deal, you're missing out on something HUGE. And don't forget what nevermind said.

Sounds like a financial problem, as well as a moral problem. And then you blame it all on being black.
The bottom line is, this sounds like a great way to get your story told, and make a pretty decent chunk of change in the process.
I wouldn,t do it. It seems they are going to get the money and you will not a get a cent, they will manipulate the business later. Chinese for money no mercy!!!!. The point is that you are not in a western country so if you sue them and don,t have guanxi, you will loose. Be careful, just an advice

There are so many variables at play here that you didn't tell us about that its hard to say. What's the book about? How much do you want to write it? How easy is it to write? Is it something that will take 2-3 years working full time to complete? How much leverage do you have or how hard is it to get help with financing the book somewhere else? Without knowing these things its really hard to say.
More importantly whats the topic of the book? This will be a deciding factor, whether or not it has a chance to be profitable.
