Does she expect to pay for it all? If you are cool with paying so much, then keep doing it, but if you feel like you want to save a bit more, maybe you can ask her to help you out also. Do you think she'll end it if you ask her to pay?

She'll pay for small things - buy some vegetables, fruit. Do guys pay for everything in China, even when both work?

Actually, it's not always true..

Despite the quite a few defects of my wife, since we know each other, we've always shared the bills. Sometimes, I also invite her, sometimes she also invites me.

you can buy her nice things, I hear women like IPADs, so buy her one, but maybe buy a broken one really cheap, give it to her, but tell her to be careful with it, so she doesn't break it. Then she will be happy and maybe too shy to say she broke the IPAD.
Guys see how you can get out of the IPAD situation !! Smile Smile

I make a hell of a lot more than what my gf does, so I am more than comfortable paying for almost everything.
It just depends on what you feel comfortable with.
If she is making half of what you do and you live together, and you pay for everything, what does she spend her money on?

Sangoku:

Then you wonder why Chinese girls keep having this mentality that Western people are all rich and pay for everything..... It's not only Chinese girls' mentality the problem, it's also so Western people' mentality which need to be changed.

It's not about Chinese girl's. It would be the same at home with a local girl under the same circumstances. My gf here has never asked me for anything. This why I am with her. Because of this I want to pay. I have dated way too many diggers here to know the difference.

Yeah, this was also my criteria. My current girl never asked me how much money I had. Never ask me to buy her anything (even when she obviously needed something) and still doesn't know my money situation. It is a pleasure for me to pay for her. She is as far away from a golddigger as black is from white. I have the money to pay and I gladly take care of her.

Does she do the cooking and cleaning? Does she help you translate with the locals? Does she support you? These are questions you should consider when asking if you should pay. If she is contributing significantly to the relationship, she should be worth you taking care of her monetarily. After all, she is providing "services" that are tangible. Nobody said love was free Wink It's either that or picking up random girls at bars (which I detest). If you have matured past the one night stands, consider doing what it takes to keep her (but only if she is worth it).

Paying for the girlfriend is just like everything else.....

I'd give someone the shirt off my back, until they expect it of me.

Depends. When me and the Mrs. were dating I used to pay for everything. But, she would buck up and grab a bill the odd time which was nice enough. Considering she only made 4 k a month I had no problem paying. In fact I hated the idea of her blowing 2 or 3 hundred kuai on a meal knowing it was a significant junk of change for her. If it was under 100 kuai I'd let her pay.

If you are earning 10k and she is earning half 5k thats a hell of a lot and she should certainly be paying her way...i dont understand why guys let girls spend all their money, then the girl will save or spend her own money on junk...a stupid situation!!

My girlfriend earns around 2300 per month i earn 9700, we live in an apartment provided by my work and bill are paid by me...she will spend money when we go out or me, usually take turns if going out for dinner etc...
I pay for everyday things like supermarket shopping etc
If i want something from taobao i give her the money and she will buy it, if she wants something from tao bao she will buy it...same for shopping for luxury/leisure items clothes, gadgets etc we pay for the things we buy or use ourselves....
I feel this is a fair way to do it no matter what our salary are, its not fair that I pay for 5000+ worth of stuff before she pays anything if you want to both pay for stuff it should be a % or your salaries...
Me and my girlfriend have a savings account we both put 20% of our salary in and we will spend that for travelling together...

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
