Q: This site and CPU usage

In the last few days, whenever I am typing an answer to a question, this site starts sending my CPU into the 90%+ range.  What changed?  This site used to be pretty CPU friendly.

Your PC is not agree with the answers you type. Call it mental enforcement. Or you can also do a maleware check. (malewarebytes is pretty good though.)

Xpat.John:

I am using a Mac. Malware is hard to find on an apple. :) And in case it does sneak through, I have a couple layers of protection programs.

maybe the site is allowing the govt to monitor you more carefully. that's what happens when you speak facts and truths here wink

Xpat.John:

I always try to pick my words pretty carefully here. I have no delusions about monitoring.

I guess it is browser related.  For some reason this site doesn't like the latest version of Firefox on the Mac.  Thank goodness that I am a computer geek and have about 4 other browsers to choose from.

HugAPanda:

Have you tried Google's Chrome? I'm kind of diggin' it.

On this computer I have Firefox, Safari, Chrome, IE, Opera & Maxthon. Firefox used to be my #1 choice, but Chrome is starting to grow on me.

Hey there Xpat.John,

Sorry to hear you're having troubles. I myself am using a Mac with Firefox and don't seem to be having any issues.

Let me know what Firefox version you're using as well as what your current OS version is, and I'll look into it. Personally.

Business Cat

Xpat.John:

Hiya Business Cat, Thanks for being willing to look into it. I have been making websites for over 20 years so I can understand the difficulty to get a site to run right under every configuration. Currently, I am using Firefox 7.0.1 on OSX 10.6.8. Thanks again, Xpat John

I am actually having issues using firefox and this site also. When getting on the site, it locks up my computer for at least 30 seconds. Everything is frozen. Firefox 6.0.2 and win 7 with all the latest updates as of this morning!
