Q: Skipping pages in your passport.
I received my passport back this morning only to discover that they skipped pages 2 and 3 of my new passport. They put the visa on page 4. I checked my old passport and noted that they simply skip an entire page and then stick the visa in. I asked a friend of mine and he said that they put the visa on page 28 in his passport. Every time his passport was checked, he was told that he does not have a valid visa and he would politely have to tell them to keep checking. I asked about this when collecting my passport and got the usual response of "mei win ti". My response was obviously that they should do their job better. What's your take on the matter and have you had a similar experience?

In my new passport, the first visa was placed on page 5, and then entrance and exit stamps covered pages 6 & 7. My second visa then went on page 20 (this one is for 10 years), so stamps start on 21, and continue on 22, 23 and 24.
In all honestly, I could not care less, when they reach the last page, they will have pages 1 to 5, and 8 to 19 to play with. Everytime I have asked why leave blank pages, their response was that stamps should be next to visa.
So, if that makes them happy, as long as I get the proper stamps for entering or exiting, I really do not care where they do it.

Pages of passport are numbered, so no. of pages cannot be changed!
Page number in the passport isn't dedicated 'function ... ... number' like in the book.
What is wrong with you? What does it make any difference (to you) on what page lays first or ninth stamp? Are you in Primary School?
It never happened cops in any country would say ''you don't have the visa in your passport ..'' unless they checked all pages and visa stamp wasn't there.
In other words, cops go through the passport till they don't find visa stamp! They also check your travelling habits .... You should travel more! he he.
'add-it' to "My response was ...":
Once copper returns the passport to you and lets you enter the country, your only response can be:
"Thank you very much! Have a great day! Bye-bye!''
Don't tell me you did/would coach cop at the border's entry on anything after she/he lets you pass and especially not on how she/he should do her/his job!
Your whole thread never happened ...!
Cos pasting it in the first available page might give the impression that they give a shit!
They don't.
It would also be logical.
They're not.
Just wait for 'BIOMETRICS'. They'll plant a little Microchip in your medulla oblongata, then scan your head like the nurse does when you have your temperature read.
'voila!, no more pages ~
I don't think it matters, I renewed my passport last year, it has 34 usable pages, the first time i used it they put the stamp on page 28 lol. I guess it doesn't matter what order its in as long as its there.
