Q: So, How's The New Anti-Pornography Restrictions Working For You?

Since the new anti-pornography movement has started, I can no longer access such pornographic sites as:

Theonion.com (I know why they are blocking this one!)

Stickmanbangkok.com

CBC.ca

Theoatmeal.com

and another 10 miscellaneous news and/or humor sites.

Add this to an already laughable restriction on Google (https, no less!) of three image searches before my personal censor wakes up and blocks that, too. I'm sorry that I have searched for such obscene terms such as "Airline meals" and "Pictures of people who love China excessively"

Yes, Great Powers of China, you have shown me the error of my ways by making it clear that you no longer want me to remain in your great Utopia (although, it's abundantly clear that you'd like my money to remain here). You've made it clear that an educator is not to educate using the latest technology or resources but he/she must rely on poorly translated and horribly inaccurate 1950's CCP-approved "facts".

Can we make a deal? I'll work for you and help you block the real threatening sites whilst you allow me to actually use the (*#^%#%*(&%^(^%(#%^(# Internet to do my job of teaching YOUR children!

Xie xie!

-P.S mike95ca and robk are CIA (Canadian Ice-skating Amateurs)  insurgents! Feel free to alleviate my personal censor from monitoring me and dedicate his comradeship's time to blocking them (p.p.s: they read 'Doonsbury' and think it's funny).

Censorship is bulk and random for most cases.

The idea is more to shoot in the air to scare people than to make surgical strikes. They temper with as many foreign services as possible so masses do not get used to them. Which is why it can differ from a month to another. It is as much political than economical actually.

But theonion.com...c'mon, you know it's the most reliable source of ChinaDaily's news!

However, no Bloomberg or The Guardian, despite Pulitzer reward few months ago.

Sinobear:

Bastard cat! I told you, I have my very own personal censor!

But we all know that mike695ca and robk are far more subversive (I have it on good authority that they plan to introduce "Reagonomics" to China very...ooops, too late!)

On a side note, does anyone actually read previous posts before answering/commenting? Doesn't seem like it.

Sino. This has nothing to do with China, someone has signed you up for The Truman Show II

Sinobear:

Yes, comrade Skandocalrisian (hey...that kinda groove!): I am not referencing or disparaging the GFWC, only pointing out that, hypothetically, resources currently being hypothetically allocated to blocking every *#&(*^%#(*%(#* site that I try to access could be better utilized blocking, hypothetically, someone else.

I wish they were as ineffective at blocking youtube as they are at blocking porn.

Anyway, maybe they have a different definition of 'porn', but they did no tell anyone.

Try the onion again. Works for me.

Sinobear:

Indeed it does, and with such hard-hitting articles: http://www.theonion.com/articles/petco-to-stop-selling-dog-cat-treats-made-in-china,36110/

Actually, I am pretty good at ice-skating... surprise

Why do you mention me and Mike? Do you still think we are the same person?

mike695ca:

Hey, you were asking about UFC in china. August 23rd in the Venetian in Macau. Michael bisping vs cung lee and hector lombard vs stun gun. Great card. Unfortunately i have a family trip already planned for thailand and singapore..... But i need to try.

A:You can still skin into China as a non-English native teacher by holding English Teaching license in your home country.2nd: Your BA degree should be completed in a native English country. Once, you fulfilled these 'parameters', you qualify for an English teaching job in China as a non-native English sneaker with Z - Entry/Working visa with Working and Residence permit later on. See the last 'Answers Highlight' ---> there is a web link posted about 'requirements for teaching English language in China as a non-English native passport holder'. https://www.gooverseas.com/blog/guide-teaching-english-china#paragraph-item-63614-target

*English proficiency: Passport from one of seven "native speaker" countries (US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and South Africa). If you aren’t a native speaker, you’ll need to be a certified teacher in your home country with proof of your English proficiency (e.g. IELTS or TOEFL). I'd say, Chinese will choose and look especially for a native English speaker at teaching of English Literature job openings. Posted job adverts for English Literature teaching are most likely from International Schools in China. Good luck! -- icnif77
