Who is charged with maintaining the roads in China? Yesterday, I rode over a huge hole with my motorbike, it hurt like hell and could have been the death of me. Where I live it is getting ridiculous, some roads are full of mole hills and pot holes.

The local Government, Council. I've seen the workers mending the roads, actually they look like the same guys that work on the roads in Australia. The bigger jobs such as re-surfacing, seem to be done by the local Government agency as well
The holes in the road are nothing compared to the massive amount of rock slides on the mountain roads. I like the ones where you have to sit waiting for five or six hours as they try and clear a path, but the problem isn't solved so they make everyone get off the bus and walk through the area... that way if another slide happen, not everyone will die.
