Q: So what do you think about...Muslims...now that you are in China?

Do you share the same opinions as Trump or Trudeau?

Are they all evil or is China really good at spinning the news?   You know...like some un named US news networks?

Are you scared of them?  Or do you buy BBQ food (the best) from them down the street?

Do you think China would ever accept Syrian refugees?  Ok...would they come if they did?

I like the food in Muslim restaurants here and no, they are not all evil. Many of the Xinjiang muslims here are a good del friendlier and more trustworthy than their Han counterparts.

Syrian refugees? I guess they will work cheaply on the wrong visa so I guess some of them will come here.

My point of this post was to point out how ridiculous the fear mongering about Islam is a sad propaganda tool, considering 99.99 percent of Muslims are normal peace loving people, often persecuted by fellow muslims worse than by others.

That being said I find the religion offensive and moronic much like all organized religion.

But I have no tolerance for the repression of beliefs when the vast majority of those people are normal peace loving people.

AND I love Xinjiang food.

Fuck Trump and god help America....and the planet.

Who is condemning all Muslims? Who is repressing their right to practice religion? Are you purposefully ignoring what's going on with Arab Muslims? I posted some statistics a while back that came from research not out of sb's ass like your 99.99% for example over 70% of British Muslims supported the killing of the French cartoonists.. You see, although a very small percent take action and become terrorists, the community supports it. Look up Asra Nomani, a Muslim feminist, find her clips when she gives interviews.

Hotwater:

Would you care to post that link again? There was a poll carried out of British Muslims I remember but the questions were very vague and from what I saw the results widely interpreted depending on the policutsl stance of the people reporting on it.

Thanks. Regarding the Channel 4 survery...interesting reading.

"32% refuse to condemn those who take part in violence against those who mock the Prophet

Q: Please tell me whether you sympathise or condemn people who take part in violence against those who mock the Prophet

Net sympathise: 18% (completely sympathise: 9%, sympathise to some extent: 9%, neither symathise or condemn: 14%)"

Not quite the 70% you quoted.

To be honest I've not opened the other link...I'd prefer to trust ubiased opinion from C4 than from a site that quite openly looks for faults in Islam.

So, you think 32% supporting the killing of people is ok? Wow, great liberal values

You shouid look at the opposite side (Britain First, KKK, etc) who have similar views on killing but from a right-wing Christian viewpoint.

I felt sympathy for Uyghurs when I was in China

Then back in Germany, some casual conversations with Turks. One guy whining about how Germans are the worst ppl alive, for not letting Turks in Germany hold a peaceful demonstration for that Armenian-genocide-denying, Kurd-massacring Erdogan of theirs, and I'm reminded how readily Turkish people will abuse power given the opportunity. All that makes Uyghurs different from Turks, is that they're not in power in their region. Then I realise it doesn't matter which flavour of shifty, power abusing culture is dominant, the power abuse continues, and sympathising with victims is naive because they'd happily be the exploiter given the opportunity . My readiness to show humanitarianism to those who don't have any such values, diminishes over time. Kids fight in the sandbox, if any get hurt, it's no skin off my back. Let them fight for all I care.
