Q: So what's a popular 'saying' in China that most people know?
The idea came from Texas having the saying: "Everything is bigger in Texas". How does the saying go in "China"? Does all the major cities have any popular sayings, places such as 'Shanghai', 'Beijing', 'Hong Kong' etc.,
Chongqing, the land of hot weather, hot food, and hot women.
Visit Yangzhou in March.
In Kunming four season are like spring.
Guilin four lakes two rivers (or four rivers two lakes, I forget).
Most of them run along those lines.
Claiming to speak Engilsh because they can say "HELLO" and "BYE-BYE". All for all of China, so I am not asked where it applies.
In Changsha, we say, "We're just here to admire the pink lighting."

Da Fei Jie (Not that I know what it means, or who typically says it.)
Hold bu ju (mind my spelling, it's a combination English-Chinese)--a friend of mind taught it to me, it means I can't stand it! (or in the correct context, I can't stand you!).
Last night, I had a drunk local tell me "If there's a heaven, it would have to be Suzhou." And then get really confused why I hadn't heard this saying before.... But it could of just been the drunk talking.
