Q: Social Security paymentts - anyone got them back?

In theory, we can get those payments back when we leave China.

So - has anyone left after paying them, and gotten them back? Or tried, but still waiting? If tried, what was the process - long and painful, or oddly simple and easy?

I've never think about return of SS payments. I think, poster with WCG (or similar) handle sued School and won monnies a month ago.

I would ask at SAFEA foe detailed info about that.

Forget about that, even the young Chinese people don't expect to get their social security payments after they retire. The governors have been splurging the money.

icnif77:

How do you know that? Did you write that from your USA experience?

If I'm wrong in my assumption, could you post web link, which lead to your conclusion? Please…

They got the money back from the Chinese government with the help of the schools/Education Bureau so I guess SAFEA

What I'm confused is the fact in some areas we (foreigners) have to pay SS & on others we don't. I've worked in GZ for two years & didn't pay. I'm just transferring my work permit to a company in Shunde & again it's not been mentioned.

Yet the 2011(?) SS law update said all foreigners must now pay.

So why the inconsistent enforcement? (Please no TIC replies!)

Does anyone have a list of which provinces/cities enforce the SS laws?
