Single's day in China is on November 11 because the date is 11/11, see all the ones? November 1, 1/11, is mini singles day. and today is singles day. So don't think anything of it if people say that to do. They also have a lot of good deals today at different stores and restaurants so have a look at for that.

Nov. 11th, or 11-11, is supposed to look like 4 single persons. The rock in the garden downstairs is supposed to look like a maiden carrying a flower basket. Today's date might as well be taken for two happy couples, as far as I'm concerned, but that's not the way the Chinese see it. And singles are of course the ones to be pitied, so Happy Singles Day!

Today is the day that you can celebrate still being single. Yes you made it through another year and no one to will be jumping on you for not taking out the trash. Now look at last years girl friend, what were you thinking?

Did you mention you are alone in China ?  If you answered Yes to any of their Questions you are now at risk of endless matchmaking !!! The only thing you can do is head for a safe house till arrangements can be made to extract you. Its SHOPPING.....well 11/11 is named singles day but now, like many holidays, it has been taken over by commercialism. Like the day after Thanksgiving, there are massive sales at stores. Particularly on Taobao. I've had to wait another month to get an oven because my flatmates said we had to wait for the 'singles day' sales. Thank god it has arrived, I need to roast a chicken!!!

  I've no idea but if the person who said it to you was a stranger, that's a really bad sign.
