Q: Sources of good Chinese music?

What is a good shop/web site/venue for Chinese music that is not mass produced pop or tone deaf punk? I know there is good Chinese music out there; I've come by it by accident from time to time. But where can I find more of it? I'm not that particular about genre, any suggestions are welcome!

Douban.com is the best site. Virtually every Chinese band or musician has a douban page in which they upload songs, photos and gig info. It's pretty much the Chinese version of myspace more or less. If you register an account, you can follow their pages and receive news about upcoming gigs.

Another site for reading up about rock music is rockinchina.com. It's like an online encyclopedia of who's who in the underground music scene.

Another good blog to check out is Beijingdaze.com. It's written by an expat who goes to 90% of all gigs in Beijing and blogs about them. He interviews bands from time to time and also posts info on upcoming shows. It's very Beijing-centric obviously, but good for learning about the capital's live music scene.
