Peking Duck is generally what they're known for. Here's a list I came up with.

Peking Duck (usually served with pancakes) (北京烤鸭)
Hot and Sour Soup (酸辣汤)
Peking Barbecue (烤肉/北京烤肉)
Beggar's chicken (富贵鸡)
Fried Small Meatballs (炸丸子) (Zha Xiao Wan Zi)
Roast (Mutton/Beef/Pork (烧牛/羊/猪肉) (Shao Niu/Yang/Zhu Rou)
Peking Dumpling (饺子/北京饺子) (Jiaozi/Beijing Jiaozi)
Peking wonton (馄饨/北京馄饨) (Hun Tun/Beijing Huntun)
Braised fish (酥鱼) (Su Yu)
Soft fried fish (软炸鱼) (Ruan Zha Yu)
Fish cooked with five spices (五香鱼) (Wu Xiang Yu)

The beijing Roast Duck is one of the specialty foods. Also, they have lobster! The most expensive lobster I've seen that you can purchase was a king Lobster for 1000 dollars around 6000 RMB. If you want specialty but a cheaper specialty go with the Roast Duck! If you want to really impressive somebody you can get the 1000 dollar King Lobster!

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
