So, you have

A - no product to sale and

B - no strategy/platform to sell it (no, English is not a strategy, and by the way, I'm already very indulgent to consider you can write English).

"Hey guys, I'm looking to create the next killer website that's going to make me millions, any idea? I've been learning Java since yesterday".

jatin143:

Hi Riri,

Yes. somewhat you are right.

and nice joke. it's good example, kind of fit.

well. I dont mean I don't have strategy or as English it is.. It's just one of view on language.

I will write Item in Eng and Chinese so it can be easier for people.

This is got to be one of the most common questions Chinese people ask me (after the usual, "Where are you from?"  Do you like China? and Can you speak Chinese?)  Let me be honest with you.  You are doing it all wrong.

1.  You have no personal goals.  I can ascertain that by your questions.

2.   You are chasing money.

3.  You are asking a bunch of strangers what to do.

Chinese people are always eager to chase the money, but if it seems too hard, they give up.  The reason is because they have no heart.  They aren't personally invested in the venture.  So your first step is to find your dream and meditate on it.  When that dream is burning like fire in your stomach, you are ready to proceed.  Business is tough.  It requires dedication, determination, a tough skin, and a large pair of gonads just to have a chance to succeed.  If there is no fire, you are already defeated.  Stop chasing money and focus on what motivates your heart.  Then come back with some real questions.

jatin143:

Hi Xinyu,

Thanks for ur comment.

I am not Chinese and nor I am chasing for the money.

But yes, I am beginner on this platform of online sales so I just asked some questions which I can get to know what people will think & say about it. no matter I get the name of stuff or not, but at least I got to know more ideas. is it correct, isn't it ?

I will define my strategy and go for it.

Thanks for consideration, if anything you are still welcome to say.

Your question is like asking:

"tell me what to do with my life"

in any business, you find goods or services that are different in some way to what is already there, or something new.

do market research and / or find something you are passionate about

asking random internet strangers to do this for you is lazy in the extreme.

i would expect to be paid for my time To do this work for someone else.

Robk:

I agree. It's like going around asking everyone what kind of business you should open... as if someone has the magic formula that will make you rich.

Well you need a product, but just asking what to sell won't work.  I could tell you that the new iphone will sell like crazy, but would you be able to source the product at a cheap enough price to make any profit?

I think you should be looking at what you can buy at a reasonable price, then do some research to see if there is actually a market for it, and if you feel you would be able to compete with the well established competition.

I am selling Chinese electronics (smartphones, laptops, ...) in the European market, writing "gift" on the package to help my buyers avoid taxes (most of the time) and offering competitive prices compared to local companies doing the same.

I love these posts.

Hmmm...sales. No one has thought of that in China. What? No idea what you want to sell?? Genius move asking here. Sounds about as sound as your business plan ie: I want to make a lot of money and do as little work as possible, I think I'll sell some undetermined product to some imaginary market. Pure genius.

Looking forward to seeing eChinacities getting a plug in your first Forbes magazine interview.

Having a shop before having any idea of what you want to sell, you got the order wrong Wink

Ask yourself if you have something that

  1) you are passionate about

  2) you understand

  3) you wish to diffuse

  4) you can provide at reasonable price

  5) have a market in China (ie. there's a demand for it and not enough offer)

Example : I love wine and food products from South-West France. I know those well, it's my home land, I literally grow-up around and with those. I saw that some Chinese people (with money and a taste for culture) appreciate such products when they get an opportunity to taste them, especially the artisanal ones (ie. not made in a large souless factory). There's zero offer for such products in China. I can directly contact the producers, thanks to my relative and friends in France. Those producers would be glad to export some of their stuff in China. In China, some of my wife relatives have experience in selling things on Taobao and are organized and honest enough to do this. We also have a circle of acquaintance that would love to try those food products. So there, that's a business opportunity, that will still requires reading about Chinese food & custom regulations. Do your homework, nobody will do it for you Wink

I agree with the other posters. It is pretty much IMPOSSIBLE for us to tell YOU what to sell. That's not how it works. You have to do research and find something to sell that is:

1 - in high demand

2- perhaps a good niche market

3 - if not in high demand, maybe a good new market

You also need to check Taobao to make sure nobody else has a monopoly on the items you are trying to sell with like 100000 positive reviews. You need to be smart here and put in the time and effort, otherwise don't bother. Probably another 1 000 000 people are doing the exact same thing you are doing with better research and marketing resources.

Are you white or what? If you are white, I think you can try [whatever your gender]friend rental service. I heard a lot of Chinese are looking for fake bf or gf during family reunion holiday so that they can show their parents.
