Q: Stay-cation activities in Beijing?

I'm staying in Beijing for the holiday and I kind of want to go on some day trips that aren't overrun with tourists... any suggestions?

Green acres is the place for me.
Farm livin' is the life for me.
Land spreadin' out so far and wide
Keep Peking, just give me that countryside.
Peking is where I'd rather stay.
I get allergic smelling hay.
I just adore a penthouse view.
Dah-ling I love you but give me Qianmen LU.
...The chores.
...The stores.
...Fresh air.
...Tienanmen Square
You are my wife.
Good bye, city life.
Green Acres we are there.

The lack of answers here probably tells you all you need to know.

The Summer Palace is very nice, YongHeGong is good, I didn't like Forbidden City, it alls looks the same to me. 798 is worth a day out. If you can get to the Water Great Wall (水长城)  I'd highly recommend it. When I went it wasn't overcrowded at all and it was stunning. It's where the Great Wall was submerged by the building of a dam. I can't tell you exactly where it is as I have no idea where we went, but I'm sure you can search

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
