What's up with this food combination? This dish is on the menu of almost all local restaurants claiming to serve Western food
I have never seen the combo home in Western. Maybe it is from some remote part of Italy?
To start with there is no steak in China, only chewy beef. Good thing that its always 1/4'' thick or you'd never be able to chew it. Chinese food at home is mostly western Chinese food, but its edible at least.
Scandinavian:
I actually had a decent steak the other day in a restaurant/buffet, proper beef with beef taste, correct texture, cooked to my liking (rare). it was a little on the small side, when I asked for the 3rd one, they brought me two.
TedDBayer:
a steak should never be small and you should recognize the cut of beef, In China its a square from an unknown cut
I found beef beef joints in walmart. Cut them into steaks. Plus metro has been a real life saver as well.
Yes that would be considered western. Not sure the area you are from, but most restaurants in the capital emerald city does not include that dish ....
The one that makes me ill just looking at it is a pizza with mayo or ketchup smothered across the top of it. Even if you like ketchup or mayo, having it covering the entire top of your pizza is blasphemy, and no restaurant should be allowed to call themselves western for doing such.
