Q: Strangest thing happened today...

my mind is kinda reeling,,,, so, I may ramble a bit~  today I decided to prank a colleague, so, as we were in our daily conversation (topic introduced and driven by me as per usual) I nonchalantly worked it in several times that my opinion on the subject was partly based on my ongoing conversations with the president of china... he just accepts this and conversation continues... he asked me if we communicate by email and I kinda laughed and said no way that the president's mode of communication is encrypted, top-secret stuff and I really couldn't say anything more about it.  He believes that I am in contact, pals, w/ the prez of prc.  I explained to him that we had been discussing something and were trying to decide how to bring it to a popular vote.  That we had decided to start having the general population vote and that I would be needing him to vote on this proposal soon. He just sits there, I mean u have to know this guy and be there,,, but he accepts everything I say as fact, and he never questions how that it might be a bit absurd.  I think I'm gonna have an aneurysm....

btw: this guy must be 50 years of age, by chinese standards educated, mid-level management

He probably never listened to a word you said.

Chinese do that a lot, they continue a conversation they know is a lie so the other person doesn't lose face.

That, or he is a complete idiot.

Or both?

diverdude1:

yeah,,,, that's what's bugging me...   I've been a few places on this planet and I have never met a guy from anywhere who wouldn't call bullshit (unless going to get killed or something),,, sooooo, I'm sitting here trying to figure out why this guy wouldn't call bullshit.  I mean u have to be here to get the context.  I know this guy and it seems as if he doesn't even question anything I say.  I bet I could tell him I'm in contact with ET and he would believe it.

I honestly think he is just as naive as naive can be compounded with being dumber than a dead rock.

He might be watching you for 'talk against Chinese politics'. Slippery!

IMO, Chinese only play 'stupid', but most of the time they always know exactly what they are doing.

Another Chinese excuse is 'leader (one of the 20th) told me that, and I can't do anything against, despite I promised'.

I'm in another 'screw me for 7k' stupid dispute with my school-aa, and ready to dial Gov. with complain, after we just renewed the Contract. They 'penny pinching' me, because I have high salary by Chinese standards.

Sorry, I'm in the 'bull' mood.angel

diverdude1:

sorry to hear about your 'bull' mood... getting fckd over by one's employer can bring on that mood,,, I know.  well, stick to your guns and I hope things work out in your favor.

Keep it going Smile

So whats the next revelation to tell him about? What is the vote about?

Erm.

Far fetched... Unification with the other China? The other China will be in charge.

Medium fetched..... He wants to buy France.

Plain stupid... he wants to make English the Chinese national language.

Ha ha.

diverdude1:

lol...  I was telling him about how we had pretty much decided on public execution for those vandals who stick advertising stickers on sidewalks and/or scribble their grafitti phone numbers everywhere.  But I kept telling him how we wanted a public vote regarding before we moved forward with the plan.

lol. Your story might be safer than any of mine diverdude. Imagine if he posted my suggestions on wechat and they were wechatted a few million times.... Wow, you would be invited for tea faster than last nights dinner was squirted from my arse :)

:) Guess where I was sitting as I made my comment ? Anyhow, regarding being taken for a cup of tea, how many"re-posts" is it before one is considered an unofficial journalist? I cant remember. I remember it was in the news a few years back. I cant remember if it is 500 or 15k.

From my experience he wasnt even listening. Any questions if asked at all are just something to say and then move on to the next topic.

Try this. Ask him if he saw the new Jurassic Park 4. When he answers, tell him he needs to watch part 7. Its waaaaay better. He wont bat an eyelid. You can literally say anything regardless of how stupid it is and he wont respond even because at the end of the day that would entail giving a rats ass about another person.

mike695ca:

Even better, tell him your best friend/ mom/ uncle from back home is dying a painful slow death. The next time you see him look kinda sad. 5 pints says you could see him every day for a month and he wont ask how your mom is doing. It didnt even register.

diverdude1:

cool.. that is a good idea.  I'm gonna do that (mom cancer thing).  I can't bet u 5 pints though, because my bet is same as yours.  He'll never mention it again. simply because it doesn't friggin' register.  I said he was naive and dumb,, but another way to describe this cat is Vacant.

He stalled his car the other day in the middle of the road, cuz he likes to get into 5th gear by about 15 km/h.  I told him that they had cars with automatic transmissions since he seemed to have trouble w/ the manual kind.

with the straightest face u ever seen he was asking me why I thought an automatic would be better for him... as we sat stalled out in the middle of the street!  I'm telling u, this guy Defines chinese driver.  It is an eye-opening experience riding with him~
