Q: Is street food in Xinjiang generally safe to eat?
My next big trip will be to Xinjiang and I'm already drooling over the thought of trying all those delicious street snacks. I am getting growing concerns about food safety thought and don't want to eat something deep fried in gutter oil if possible, so wondering if Xinjiang's street food has a better rep?
the good thing with Xinjiang is most of the food is safe due to beliefs they have. The other good thing they have the cheapest kebabs in China and the most delicious kebabs
I've been here in Xinajing seven months, and have been eating street foods. I'm still alive, one day only of a bad stomach. I'd say that you'll be fine.
Make sure you try the local la mien, kababs, dapanji (with friends), samsa and the Uyghur ice cream, at an absolute minimum, while you're here! Oh, and all the fruit.Oh, and naan, obviously.
