Q: Student Visa Issue

My student visa has expired since september 2011. I just missed my registration date for the university in some weird situation in Shenzhen at shenzhen university, and since then my previous university officals completely wants to stay away from my situation, and when I go online to find some help or solution what I hear is deportation and fine and jail and so on... In this situation it is not helpful it only makes me more scared, So I even tried to find a job in case some company might help me renew my visa, so far no luck, and trying to find some agent who can help at least clear my status because I have never had any bad record on my name my entier life and I want to keep it that way. Sadly, in this situation where I didnt intend to but it is going to be a bad very bad record on my file, and even though some will suggest I can go back to my country by paying the fine and so on, But paying the fine is a lot and then the air fair is even more, so after spending so much amount here for the fine and air fair why not find some other way where I have to pay almost the same amount but then the situation will be different.
So please if some one knows any agent who can help me through this situation Please let me have the information.
So I can try to do something about it.
 Thannk you Best Regards

Ryan:

The fine is limited to a maximum amount of 5,000 Rmb, but you have a visa expired for 6 months now, and that is just not a few days. It would be hard to plead ignorance of expiration date, and any other pausable excuses.

In my opinion, it is better to face the facts and volunteer yourself in that be found. The worst case scenario will be to be deported, and maybe face an up to 5 years ban to get another visa to enter China.

This is why I suggested to show remorse, ask for forgiveness and clearly explain you do respect all Chinese Laws as a mitigated factor.

In regards to locating a visa agent to help you, you could try that way if you wish, but in general visa agents get you a new visa, or renew an existing valid one. I would make sure they can really help you before paying them any money and then just end up with the same as if you did it yourself.

Good luck to you.

You're basically SOL (Shit Out of Luck).  You've gone half a year without a visa.  No company or agent can magically get you a new visa and have all forgiven.

I'm assuming you don't have the strong political connections (or you would have used them months) and since your worried about cost of fine and flight, I assume you don't have close to the amount of bribe money it would take.

So just man up and face the music.  It will be alot worse if you just keep dragging your feet and they find you, instead of you turning yourself in.

Even if I recommended an agent for this, you would pay as much as it would be for a fine, new visa, and the fact that you knew about this for so long would cost you more than an airfare and plus to pay the officials. Why oh why did it take you so long to understand the repurcussions of this. In any country this would mean 10 years out of the country. Not even my firm could help with this. Why do you have no money, why did you let your visa go so long over due? Are you crazy?

I am not crazy, first of all, at the start two months there was always bad news in online blogs and every where else that they will just put me into the jail. I got afraid and then things started to change some advice from some people that by finding a job could help and so on. So i stick to the plan for finding a job, but it turned out to be the worst plan ever because most of the jobs are related to teaching, and I cannot do that even if I do give it a try there are many many requirments. So about staying or leaving if I do pay the fine and then pay the air fair and then leave what is the use? all the money is GONE! wasted, but if I spend the same amount of money to correct this mess then it rather would be different because I came here to study, so that way I wont be illegal and start my study again. Because going back means I would not have higher education there because it is a very small country if Finally I had this chance to go somewhere to fullfill my thirst for education then I wont let it go just like that. For example, the information about laws I have now if I had this information before I would have never been in this situation ever I would have done things differently. I came to china in april just started learning Chinese for a month and then summer holidays and then this Visa mess happened just because I was trying to transfer to a university where they teach in English. From my previous university they said they do not want to help even though if I pay them. Paying the bribe or trying fix this issue Yes I do not have much but I can manage it slowly, but before it was worst because the expense of coming to China and alot of other stuff I was still going through that and then this mess happened. So my visa over due it has already been done is there any other way to fix it. if they catch me and deport me then I would not apply for china visa again because that would be completely stupid of me. hope to hear some more information

and I want to thank you all of you for your comments.
Best Regards

this guys a nut case you seriously think you can get a new visa at this point??? you apply for school get accepted , get your valid student visa before you buy the damn plane ticket.

why do chinese go through great lengths to pose as foreigners? do you hate being chinese so much that you come on the net and fantasize about being a foreigner. at night pleasure yourself to the thought that you fooled some people into thinking your a foreigner?

Ryan123:

your answer is very strange. Why the hell would I do that for? As being here in china on student visa why would they just give me a visa for couple of months why I always have to keep running after visa every semester? I mean yes I do understand people come over here on student visa and then start doing something completely different, but trust me student visa is more complicated then any other chinese visa. why would spend so much time just to get a student visa, and again come into BS situation. going to the police at this stage not a chance I do not want to go to the jail. Since that is the only reason I am trying to avoid since the first day. However, thankx to comment like yours which I am getting the same from every one else since the first day I think if they would have given advice rather then criticizing things would have been a lot different. One more thing this is the reason people get into trouble because there is foreigner willing to offer help. I already have a lot of issues to face rather then proving my self being innocent or not. So thank you very much no disrespect to any one in any way. If I did said anything I am sorry. I hope no one has to go through a situation like man. It feels like I am going to have a nervous break down any minute.

Yes for sure you do follow the laws because you GOT THE TIME TO KNOW IT, however, with me the case was completely different, and where ever I am from I am proud to be part of that nation. To be very honest, I wish I could back in time when all this was happening with all the information i have now, so I can change this from happening, and having to deal with you. This post was completely a useless way THANKs to you!!! FOr your information I came to CHINA on student visa. I can prove you everything, but I dont have the time for that. One more thing, why would they give student visa so much complex system, what a student would do always keep running after visa issue or just open the book and start his adventure for EDUCATION. On the other hand, to you knowledge is no big deal as I can see by your reaction to all of my post and answers to all of them. Feels really strange to me that you are really that STUPID or you are just trying to BE? Never mind I still hope very best for you and your future. And still hope nothing like this every happen to you or any body else. Best Regards From Ryan

Why repost the question? Hoping you will get different answers?

Ryan123:

repost was just for one reason that at least this time I might get some useful answer. For example, look into my question, and then the answers, but first you need to understand my situation WHICH YOU WILL NOT because to you it is just a joke, and I dont blame you for that. Because you got things handed to you, but still I wish all of you get even better then you already have. Best Regards
