Q: Subway beggars all play the same song?

There were a bunch of beggars in the subways during the past few days for the May 1 holiday I'm guessing. I didn't notice at first, but after the third or forth time passing by, I realized they'd all been playing the same song, and that I'd been hearing this song ever since I got to Beijing. I don't really know how to describe it, but it sounded kind of ethnic minority/traditional folk music-ish. Has anyone else has noticed this, and does anyone know what the significance of this song is (other than trying to make us feel bad). It is some sort of beggar anthem or something?

Record it next time using a smartphone, so we can all listen.  I know there are a couple folk songs commonly played in GZ that the beggars tend to have on their mix tape, but can't describe the music without hearing it.

Nah, it's probably just some c.d. that they picked up some where. They could have got a case load full of cd's that somebody didn't want and decided to share it. Who knows I've never heard the same song playing by different beggars before.

The beggars have no choice as to what song to play.  It is decided by the main office.  Most beggar business is franchised.  Standard music, standard costume and begging pose and standard begging call....  all contributing to better life for beggars!

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
