For those teachers who are still in China teaching, what has your school/education department "suggested" about traveling?
We have been requested not to travel out of the country due to the restriction re-entering. We are also asked not to travel outside our "region" of our jobs. If we do travel, we must tell the school of our plans and make all arrangements for testing and other precautions upon our return, while still being able to begin school on the start date.
For me, I will be limiting my travel to the Suzhou and Wuxi areas this year.

I don't have holiday until August. The company I work for informed me and my colleagues to work in July on other things. Travel would be nice but I am not travelling until everything gets better.

You mean, you're permitted to 'travel' around near-by supermarket ... in summer break?
I love to travel ...

China will ease ... the traveling ... Did you know?

China to loosen entry restrictions on U.S. citizens, transit via 3rd country now permitted
(Reuters) - China will loosen entry restrictions on U.S. citizens, allowing entrance in case of transit via a third country, notices issued late on Friday by the Chinese embassy in Washington said, relaxing rules imposed in Beijing's drive to curb COVID-19.
China's "dynamic COVID zero" policy, which aims to minimise the risk of infected travellers arriving from abroad, has resulted in many barriers to international travel, from restrictions on the issue and renewal of passports for Chinese citizens to tough quarantine requirements upon arrival.
According to an updated policy statement, U.S. citizens with valid negative COVID test results looking to enter China may now apply for and receive a green health code for travel in from either the United States or a third country. In the past, the embassy would only grant the codes to U.S. citizens flying directly from the United States.
China has loosened the same restrictions recently for citizens of other countries.
The restrictions, coupled with a limited number of direct flights from the United States to China, caused ticket prices to cost as much as $10,000.
The changes follow a similar slight relaxation of COVID testing rules for people arriving in China from countries including the United States announced on May 18.
As I understand, you'll still need a negative Cofid cert. to enter Chinese supers ...

Goodbye Shanghai: After 16 years, COVID curbs send American family packing
SHANGHAI (Reuters) - American Heather Kaye and her family, including cat Mochi, are part of a wave of residents departing Shanghai, leaving behind their homes and memories, driven out by two years of strict COVID-19 curbs, including a crushing two-month lockdown.
Heather and husband George arrived in Shanghai from New York in 2006 for a one-year adventure, but 16 years later their two-bedroom apartment in Shanghai’s historic former French Concession is the only home their children have ever known.
According to the European Chamber, the number of foreigners in China has halved since the pandemic began. It predicts that number could halve again this summer, with few international workers coming in to replenish the numbers leaving.

Nope, I'm not not dismissing your beer with Aliens thing, just saying that radio signals from space are a known, natural occurance.
They are saying that this time is different from the other times they're seen it though - longer bursts.

As far as ET being up there watching us... I wouldn't blame them at all for keeping their distance. We half shaved apes are dangerous, irrational things. If they landed in NZ someone would steal their spaceship and use it to ram raid a liquor shop, if they landed in north America everyone would start shooting at them and probably try to sue them too, they'd be eaten most places in Asia and attacked because of their football teams if they touch down in Europe.
We're basically the rabid weasels of the universe - if you happen to see one FFS don't approach it. Talk to the dolphins instead, they seem to be quite intelligent and sensible.

At my 2nd job in China, I was in Huachuan, Heilongjiang, in winter time. On my way to the school, there was a donkey tied to a pole, and I would always greet the animal with: "Good morning! How's everything ...?". Donkey was most of the time numb.
One day, he got completely wild after my greet with loud screams. I was guessing, if animal wouldn't be tied, I'd got raped or something ...

How's everything? How the f**k is everything!!!???
Well since you ask I'll tell you. I pull a heavy cart full of cabbages around everyday while the farmer sits on the cart and yells 'da hui... xiao hui' at me, as if I'm stupid and don't know the way home. My feet are cold. Nobody fed me today. I've had an itch on my bum for two days now that I can't scratch. Some idiot kids threw stones at me this morning and the boss's wife said she'll turn me into New Year jiaozi.
That's how I'm f***ing doing!!!!!
Hey, donkeys gotta vent sometimes too.
Currently, under unpredictable circumstances e.g. wars, travel bans, and epidemic SOPs, it's better to stay in China. traveling abroad can kick you off from your job due to unavailability in china in near future. I know many foreigners who rushed to go back during the 2020 epidemic, they are still out of china.

China On Verge Of Violent Debt Jubilee As "Disgruntled" Homebuyers Refuse To Pay Their Mortgages
“The names on the list doubled every day in the past three days...”
THU JUL 14, AT 2:06 PM
As Bloomberg reports overnight, a rapidly increasing number of "disgruntled Chinese homebuyers" are refusing to pay mortgages for unfinished construction projects, exacerbating the country’s real estate woes and stoking fears that the crisis will spread to the wider financial system as countless mortgages default.
According to researcher China Real Estate Information, homebuyers have stopped mortgage payments on at least 100 projects in more than 50 cities as of Wednesday, up from 58 projects on Tuesday and only 28 on Monday, according to Jefferies Financial Group Inc. analysts including Shujin Chen.

The whole world is going through financial dramas now because of covid, supply chain issues stemming from covid, fuel prices as a result of the Ukraine thing, crazy climate change etc... and pretty much, for most governments, that's out of their hands, all they can do is try to manage the situation as best they can. But it doesn't stop the average dumb f**k online saying things like "well this party took over a couple of years ago and now look at the economy , see what they did, hurr de durr.."
But when a govt or bank or whoever isn't transparent, doesn't tell anyone what's going on other than they're not allowed to withdraw their own money and sends the thugs out to kick heads when people ask WTF...well that's a facepalm moment. Way to exacerbate the problem guys, a bit of straight forward honesty goes a long way towards instilling some trust and confidance.
Mysterious radio signals... that occurs naturally. If ET is out there talking I doubt he's using a CB radio from 1980.
Yeah those telescope pics are cool. We're literally looking back in time. There's a chance that could all be gone now and we won't know about it for 10 billion years. Trippy to think about.
icnif77:
You constantly dismiss my " ... suds with ETs ..." predictions ...
Yeah, Webb telescopic is an ultimate precision machine ... I looked for the background at JWST after I saw astrophysics moan at the first images from way back.
They were assembling the thingy for 20 or so years ... and now, it works. They're already building 2 or 3 new, more advanced ones ... and I like they gave Hawking posthumously: "Hawking was right ...!" on HIS black holes theories, and existence of multi universes and all different dimensions in outer space. It's an utmost interesting subject.
I have a feeling, main purpose of all this is human is looking for the life out of Earth, i.e. ETs ... must come and sample our suds ...
The signals intercepted from Centauri aren't natural occurrence. It might not be sent by somebody, but as it looks it's sumtin' we aren't aware, yet. However, all natural happenings we know, these signals aren't! They dismissed that right at the start.
The general assumption on ETs is " ... they're way more advanced than human .." and "...when you walk through the forest, you don't address ants on the floor with "How is it goin'..?"
That's most likely the same reason why ETs don't talk to us ..., yet.
... and on the other hand, I like to talk to animals ... and observe their reaction ... like when I meet loose cow, I always loudly mutter: " ... MUUUUU" ...
It's just common curtesy ...
