Q: Is there any age restriction in Chinese clubs?
I visited some of my wife's friends in Wuhan last weekend and they invited me to a dinner and a night out
They took their 15 year old son with them to the club and even made him toast with alcohol a few times
Is that normal in China? Is there no age restriction to enter a club?

it's forbidden officially, but it's common to see this phenonmenon.
this is china. there are laws on the books restricting the age to drink. but only foreigner run clubs/businesses must follow the law.
My GF and me do enjoy dining out, and many times her 16 years old daughter comes with us when her studies allow it. Normally we will have either beer or wine with the meal, and when ordered, invariable three glsses are brought to the table without asking for them, and the kid loves it. And she really enjoys black beer do.
there are plenty of western males up to 65 years old who go there to creep up on young girls.
The first time I went into a club, I was 16, but since I've always looked older than I am, they never asked for any ID.
Most clubs do have an age restriction, but some don't bother checking - as long as you pay and don't cause trouble (I've seen 13-14 years olds from my highschool get in clubs).
Once it happend to my friend (foreigner) in Shanghai (Club M2) because he could not prove that he is old enough (did not have any ID), so they did not let him inside. He is 24 by the way... I also saw that happening with a bunch of expat children trying to enter a bar (windows in huaihai road). for chinese I don't know, never saw so young chinese in clubs.
