Q: is there any foreign bank in nan chang

im in nan chang to study at  uni. just wondering if here is any uk or american banks so i can open an account.

Nope. You'll need to open an account at a Chinese bank. 

 

Though if you're lucky there might be a HSBC. Though they charge an account fee (from memory) of 150 rmb/month. 

 

Why do you want an account with a foreign bank? They have to comply with Chinese laws. The only thing that HSBC had going for it in Guangzhou was the staff almost all spoke good English. There was still lots of stupid paperwork needed to do anything.

 

my recommendation would be China Merchants bank.
