Only if you want to be laughed at, the Police will probably be the ones buying that stolen bike

If you will like to forget about the stolen bike by watching others making fun of you, doubting that you ever owned a bike (even if you show receipt), and giving you the run around, then go ahead.  But do not expect them to move a finger towards locating your bike.

And if by one of those "karma" things, if they happen to see your bike, they will take it away from the thief and keep it to themselves.  But most surely your bike is by now many miles away, being used at a small village or a farm on the country side.

Just forget it, charge io to experience, and use at ;least three chains to secure it.  One for each wheel to frame, and one from frame to a fence or tree.  And use heavy chain and good padlocks if you want to keep the next bike.

the only people who they would help find a bike for would be someone with lots of money and clout but someone one with money and clout would not lose face buy reporting it or just buy a new one.

so use a big old chain i use a giant steel one that i rap around my shoulder and side just in case some punk wants to start some shit with me. oh also put that weather rubber tube on it so it wont rust and becomes more annoying to cut.

Not really, no. It woluld be a waste of time and effort. The police will not make a big effort to find it.

Only if the police officer happens to be a fan of old-timey cinema.

Just forget it. The  best thing I can recommend you is that if you get another bike, try to get the oldest-ugliest-second hand bike you can find.  As long as the brakes work, I think you should be okay.

Yes if you describe your bike to them and it is very distinguishable amongst other bikes than it would help out your search for your lost or stolen bike. Although the theif can switch certain parts on the bike to make it appear it isn't yours I would expect theives to be quite lazy after they accomplish the steal. And who knows if you put an award out maybe things can happen faster!

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
