Q: Is there any side effect to eating rice every day?
I mean in a long term.
You might put on weight by eating too much rice. Some rice is genetically modified but scientists deny that there's any link to illnesses. We'll just have to wait another 20 years and see if they're right.
danielmarino:
I am pretty much force to eat it. Every time I have lunch or dinner my co-workers "force" me to have some rice and eat it all. It looks like some kind of prank they play on me. If I do not have rice everybody would start opening their eyes as big as they can and say " No rice???!!!, NO RICE????" so somebody would bring me a big bowl of rice.
Yeah it's good for you it has a lot of starch in it just like pasta which will help you go to the bathroom easier and you will feel better and the long term effects are pretty positive!
danielmarino:
Easier to go to the bathroom?? I thought it had the exact opposite effect!
HugAPanda:
it potentially does. He's a twit, but we've adopted him. And the shelter won't take him back.
TedDBayer:
He came without registration papers or a certified pedigree. I'm sure they'd put him down due to humane reasons, Watch out he could have rabies, better to just put him down that take a chance. I wrote a post about rabies in China.
Rice can be ok depending on your metabolism, but if you are predisposed to or have diabetes, white rice and white rice products are one of the worst things you can eat. It causes a rise in your glucose and it uses more of your insulin to... beat it up.
As Lolita said, it can cause you to gain weight if your body isn't using the carbs from it appropriately.
I didI read somewhere that, because it has been a staple of Asian/Indian life for so very long, it is in their genes to utilize rice efficiently . I also read that diabetes is on the rise in China just as it is in the west, and with the poor food regulations (sanitation) and the pollution, which works against the body's system, the rate of increase is actually higher.
Brown rice is much better for you if you can find it.
This being said, I am guessing you are an adult and if you dont want to eat the rice, or think the rice is not healthy for you, SAY NO. Theyll have to get over it.
danielmarino:
Yes, I guess it could take some therapy time for them but they will overcome the fact that I do not eat rice twice a day.
Yes a full stumuck.
I use uncle bens perveted rice it is pretty good for you.
Everthing that has been said can be said about bread or potatos a starch is a starch.
HugAPanda:
It makes you feel full, but it increases your hunger and your cravings for more of the bad carbs. And yes, while processed flours and white potatoes and breads are high glycemic index foods, not all starches/carbs are bad for you.
And it's stomach. Unless you are joking, which isn't obvious, so it kind of makes you a sad case, instead of a standup shtick kinda guy.

the process he used to make it are perverted
In the 1930s, the German-British scientist Eric(h) Huzenlaub (1899–1964) invented a form of parboiling designed to retain more of the nutrients in rice, now known as the Huzenlaub Process. It involves first vacuum drying of the whole grain, then steaming, and finally vacuum drying and husking.[2][3]Besides increasing rice's nutritional value, it also made it resistant to weevils and reduced cooking time
perverted
It makes you FAT.
Dont believe me? Look at the waistlines of Puertorricans and Domincans.... We eat rice and beans at least once a day, usually twice.
I been eating rice my entire life , twice everyday, and I'm not fat at all, instead i'm pretty healthy. Do you see a lot fat people in china anyway?
