Q: Is there anywhere to buy Crab Rangoons in China?

Crab Rangoons, which are wonton wrappers filled with crab and cream cheese and deep friend, are my favorite type of Americanized Chinese food in the world. If you can't buy them in China, do you think they would be popular with Chinese people if I introduced them?

Why don't you cook some and see how they go! I am sure your students or local people would like to try them. The trouble is you need cream cheese, so improvise!!

Crab Rangoons, although served at almost all American Chinese restaurants, is not really Chinese or even Polynesian in origin. I believe they were invented at Trader Jack's in San Francisco. Cream cheese is definitely not an Asian invention.

I have never seen them here, but I bet you could sell them as"Genuine American Crab Rangoons" and see how they do. Let me know, I'm dying for some. But please use real crab meat! That imitation stuff is awful!
