A few years ago, Filipno teachers were beginning to find acceptance in training schools. I think there were special requirements for them to legally get to teach in China. I know that many Filipino teachers found their way into training schools in the southern regions of China.

I do not think they get the same salary as a typical foreigner teacher from a western nation. The benefits are not as numerous too. They are asked to work longer hours. Basically, they are seen as cheap labor, compared to the standard ESL teacher. I have heard of some manipulation of visas and holding of passports. In other words, they are often treated as third-class citizens.

I know of one training school in South China that treats Filipinos very well, but it seems to be an exception than the norm. Extremem caution and due diligence is required for these teachers.

Stiggs:

That's pretty much what I've heard too, but that's the ESL market. I always had the idea that teachers of other subjects were sort of a higher class of foreign expert and so are treated as such.

Otherwise, you’ll be sorry and become one of the other Filipino working here in china, (mostly doing teaching jobs) deported by possessing fake business and tourist visa."

You can see your chances (and tell us all about) by applying through 'Find Jobs' part of the website.

There are tonne of Science teacher adverts posted and main requirements are BA diploma and English fluency.

Interestingly, special nationality isn't requested, but I'd say native English Science teacher passport holders are most likely favoured.

You must be able most likely to apply for Z visa.

Good luck!

Have a look:

Check the visa requirements, and be aware that for now at least the closed borders are likely to be an issue.

From what I understand (disclaimer : it's not something I know much about) teachers fromThe Philippines I are well regarded as teachers and if you're not teaching English where accent etc are seen as an issue you'd probably have a good chance of landing a job if you can get the visa.

Good luck to you.

That much is what I know, too. They are very good at working with children, as far as I have observed it.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
