I am so over trying to get what i want on Alibaba .
you ask a simple question and they tell you about stuff you dont want .
I know I know this is China and you will never get a straight answer .
Ok taking a deep breath now .
is there another comprehensive web site (not ebay) that i could use to find what i need?

I use JD.com for consumer stuff. For work stuff (machines etc), I use alibaba and then contact the supplier directly.
What ScotsAlan said, why bother? For higher end stuff go to JD or yihaodian, for the cheap ass bulky fake crap just take the suppliers info on Alibaba, tell them you're some big fish and you want samples at preferential price and arrange the payment.
Even if there was an alternative it would be a repertory of the same guys you know?

the problem im having is the supplers just don't understand what i want and try to sell me stuff i dont want i tell them diesel and they have petrol say vertical shaft and they say horizontal shaft they are either useless at English or to dumb to understand taking another deep breath and pouring burbon

If your supplier can't recruit one staff that speaks English, maybe you should consider the fact they might also not have a clue about norms and stuff...
I mean your choice I know but usually it's a clue.

Some of my ex-students work that sort of job. One of them has had the good sense to contact me to ask about how to deal with a customer (some guy in Melbourne, apparently). She had basically lost a contract (worth tens of thousands of AUD), and was about to make it worse... fortunately, she followed my advice, and got him back.
So - when you're dealing with "English speaking" sales people here, get them to get in touch with their "foreign" teacher, to get advice.
Also tell them that the way they are dealing with the situation now is LOSING not only your custom, but also the custom of everyone else you tell. And you will take it to one of their competitors who will actually listen.
My issue with the system isn't so much Taobao (which has problems because of the sellers), but with Alipay.
For some stupid fked up reason, they need to keep changing things. Like a new manager, completely unable to sit back and watch to see what needs changing before making a change. NO!! Just change things - it shows your doing something!
Why is Alipay the ONLY way to pay for crap on there???
philbravery:
i use my PayPal or a bank transfer depending on who im dealing with as for my problem i think the only way to solve it is to go down to Shandong or Jaingsu and visit a trading company there
