what kind of drug do you use when your tummy's unhappy? what would be the strongest one?
Yes. All western. Forget the handfuls of yellow, green, and brown pills...Here's the most common western medicine for stomach and diarrhea (cha cha cha):
洛哌丁胺 - lou pai ding an - Loperamide (Immodium)
西咪替丁 -xi mi ti ding - Cimetidine (Tagamet)
奥美拉唑 - ao mei la zuo - Omeprazole (prilosec.zegarid)
兰索拉唑 - lan suo la zuo - Lansoprazole (Prevacid)
法莫替丁 - fa mo ti ding - famotidine (Pepcid AC)
and
铋水杨酸 - bi shui yang suan - BISMUTH SUBSALICYLATE - aka Pepto Bismol (available in tablet and liquid form)
There is a Chinese medicine in a blue package that has a big yellow "1,2,3,4" on the label that is cheap and works as an ok antacid, but it has a ton of licorice root extract, DO NOT take if you have high blood pressure as licorice root can increase your BP further.
All of the above are available over the counter - most brands I have seen have the English chemical name (3rd in the list of each item) on the package, but I have never seen "brand name" packages.
Hope this helps, it took me years to gather this information
Oh, and ***PLEASE NOTE***
A lot of the time if you have loose stool it's because of bacteria you're not used to. Taking some of the above antacid type medicines (especially things like Prilosec and Pepcid types) reduce stomach acid and may actually decrease your stomach's ability to kill the bacteria, resulting in MORE POOPING.
If you have the runs, Immodium will help, and also drinking yoghurt can help.
The best things to do are watch what you eat (try to cook at home) and be less adventurous. You will have more time to try different things as you adjust and build up a resistance.
